I finished the hat and listed it on Etsy. It is Corriedale plied with some Tussah silk. There are actually a lot of different colours in this hat but the overall effect is a red-violet I think. It has a lot of fullness at the crown because I had quite a bit of yarn. The edge is turned-up. I am quite happy with it.
